Colonel Owen Ratcliff, Jr. served in the U.S. Army from 1963 – 1988. During Vietnam, he flew Huey helicopters and was the flight leader for combat assaults by air. He was stationed at Bien Hoa, Hue Phu Bai, Duc Pho, Vietnam. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Flyer Cross, three Bronze Stars, Air Medal with V Device, and thirty-six air medals. He served in the 190th Assault Helicopter Company, 1st Aviation Brigade and logged over 1,048 hours of combat assaults by air.
